It blocks serotonin signals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by a doctor or pharmacist. Follow the instructions on the label, and do not take more or use it for longer than recommended.
Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, tiredness, dizziness, or flushing may occur.
Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a history of heart rhythm problems, low potassium or magnesium levels, liver disease, or allergy to ondansetron. Seek medical help for fainting, a fast or irregular heartbeat, severe allergic symptoms, or unusual agitation, sweating, fever, muscle stiffness, or tremors, especially when taking medicines that affect serotonin.
