What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve occasional constipation and make stools softer and easier to pass.

How does it work?
Liquid paraffin lubricates the stool, while magnesium hydroxide draws water into the bowel to soften it. Sodium picosulfate stimulates bowel movement.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed on the product label or by a doctor. Measure the liquid accurately and do not take more or use it for longer than recommended. Drink adequate fluids unless a doctor has advised fluid restriction.

Common side effects
Abdominal cramps, loose stools or diarrhoea, nausea, bloating and stomach discomfort.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is severe or unexplained abdominal pain, vomiting, bowel blockage or rectal bleeding. Seek medical advice if constipation persists or keeps returning. Use cautiously in kidney disease or dehydration. Prolonged or excessive use may cause fluid or electrolyte imbalance and should be avoided. Keep out of reach of children; liquid paraffin can be harmful if accidentally inhaled.
