What is it used for?
Ampicillin 250 mg is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.
How does it work?
It kills susceptible bacteria by preventing them from forming a protective cell wall.
How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by the doctor. Follow the directions on the prescription or product label, and complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Do not share this medicine with others.
Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, and skin rash may occur.
Precautions
Do not use it if there has been a previous serious allergy to ampicillin, penicillin, or related antibiotics. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, or severe or persistent diarrhoea. Tell the doctor about kidney problems, allergies, pregnancy, or breastfeeding before use.
