What is it used for?
Zinc gluconate is used to prevent or treat zinc deficiency. Zinc deficiency may affect immunity, growth, wound healing and general health. Use it for a diagnosed or suspected deficiency as advised by a healthcare professional.

How does it work?
It supplies elemental zinc, an essential mineral needed for normal immune function, cell growth, enzyme activity and wound healing.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. This product provides 20 mg of elemental zinc per stated dose. Do not take more or use it for longer than recommended. If it causes stomach upset, taking it with food may help.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea and a metallic taste may occur, especially with higher amounts.

Precautions
Do not exceed the recommended amount. Long-term or excessive zinc use can cause copper deficiency and other health problems. Zinc can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics and penicillamine; separate doses as advised by a healthcare professional.
