What is it used for?
This combination is used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections, including some mixed infections of the intestines that may cause diarrhoea or dysentery. It should be used only when prescribed by a healthcare professional.

How does it work?
Ofloxacin stops susceptible bacteria from multiplying. Ornidazole damages the genetic material of certain parasites and anaerobic bacteria, helping clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not self-medicate or use it for ordinary viral diarrhoea or colds. Avoid taking it together with antacids or mineral supplements unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and a metallic or unpleasant taste may occur.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol during treatment and for the period advised after the last dose. Inform the healthcare professional if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if there is a history of seizures, nerve problems, tendon disorders, kidney disease or heart rhythm problems. Stop taking it and seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, numbness or tingling, severe rash, breathing difficulty or other serious reactions.
