What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when one medicine alone is not enough.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin, while metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, helping reduce the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually with or just before a meal, and swallow it with water. Do not skip meals, change the dose, or stop treatment without medical advice. Follow the prescribed diet and blood sugar monitoring plan.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, gas, bloating and loss of appetite. Low blood sugar may cause sweating, shaking, dizziness, hunger or weakness.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol use, or if surgery, a contrast scan or prolonged fasting is planned. The risk of low blood sugar is higher if meals are skipped or with alcohol. Seek urgent medical help for severe or persistent weakness, breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness, or severe abdominal symptoms. This medicine is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
