What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when one medicine alone is not sufficient.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release insulin. Pioglitazone improves the body's response to insulin, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or after food. Swallow the prolonged-release tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Do not skip meals, and do not take an extra dose if one is missed without medical advice.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, weight gain and swelling of the legs or ankles may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heart failure, swelling, bone fractures, or heavy alcohol use. Seek medical help for severe or persistent weakness, breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness, severe stomach pain, or significant swelling. Monitor blood sugar as advised. Avoid driving if symptoms of low blood sugar occur.
