Composition:\
Tofacitinib 11 mg extended-release tablet.
Uses:\
Used to treat certain inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and other conditions for which tofacitinib is prescribed. It helps reduce inflammation by suppressing certain immune system signals.
How to Use:\
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily. Swallow the extended-release tablet whole with water. Do not crush, split, or chew it. Take it with or without food at the same time each day. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.
Precautions & Warnings:\
Tofacitinib suppresses the immune system and can increase the risk of serious infections. Tell your doctor if you have an active or recurrent infection, tuberculosis, hepatitis, liver or kidney disease, or a history of blood clots, heart disease, stroke, or cancer. Your doctor may perform blood tests before and during treatment. Avoid live vaccines while taking this medicine unless specifically advised by your doctor. Seek urgent medical attention for persistent fever, severe infection symptoms, unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, or swelling or pain in an arm or leg.
Possible Side Effects:\
Common side effects include upper respiratory infections, headache, diarrhoea, nausea, and increased cholesterol levels. Serious side effects may include severe infections, blood clots, major cardiovascular events, and certain cancers. Seek immediate medical attention for signs of serious infection, unusual bleeding, chest pain, sudden weakness, severe headache, or difficulty breathing.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:\
Avoid use during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed by your doctor. Women who can become pregnant should discuss effective contraception with their doctor during treatment and for the recommended period after stopping treatment. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with tofacitinib and for the period advised by your doctor after the last dose.
Storage:\
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the medicine in its original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
Important Safety Information:\
Take only the prescribed dose. Do not use tofacitinib together with other JAK inhibitors or biological immune-suppressing medicines unless specifically directed by a specialist. Regular blood tests may be required to monitor blood counts, liver function, cholesterol, and other parameters. Report symptoms of infection, blood clots, or cardiovascular problems promptly.
