What is it used for?
Tofacitinib is used to treat certain autoimmune inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ulcerative colitis. The exact use depends on the doctor's prescription.

How does it work?
It blocks Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes involved in immune-system signals. This helps reduce the inflammation and symptoms caused by an overactive immune response.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. Swallow the extended-release tablet whole with water; do not crush, split or chew it. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Upper respiratory tract infections, headache, diarrhoea, nausea and increased cholesterol levels may occur.

Precautions
