What is it used for?
Used to treat high blood pressure when combination therapy is considered appropriate by a doctor.
How does it work?
Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, amlodipine relaxes blood vessels by blocking calcium channels, and hydrochlorothiazide helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water. Together, they help lower blood pressure.
How to take/use it
Take orally as prescribed, at the recommended time each day. Follow your doctor's instructions regarding food and fluid intake.
Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, ankle swelling, increased urination, and low blood pressure may occur.
Precautions
Monitor blood pressure and kidney function as advised. Electrolyte levels may need monitoring. Inform your doctor about kidney or liver disease, dehydration, gout, or other medicines. Telmisartan-containing medicines should not be used during pregnancy.
