What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH) in adult men. It can help with difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, frequent urination and the urgent need to urinate.

How does it work?
Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet, making it easier to pass urine. Dutasteride lowers the hormone that contributes to prostate enlargement and may gradually reduce prostate size.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the modified-release medicine whole with water; do not crush, chew or open it unless specifically instructed. Take it regularly and do not stop without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, reduced sexual desire, difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, ejaculation problems, breast tenderness or enlargement, and stomach upset may occur.

Precautions
This medicine may cause dizziness or a drop in blood pressure when standing up, especially when starting treatment; rise slowly and be careful while driving. Tell the doctor about liver disease, low blood pressure, or any previous allergy to similar medicines. Inform the eye surgeon before cataract or glaucoma surgery. Dutasteride can affect PSA blood test results, so tell the doctor that this medicine is being used. Pregnant women should not handle leaking or damaged tablets/capsules. This medicine is not intended for women or children.
