Composition:\
Sitagliptin 50 mg \+ Metformin 500 mg.
Uses:\
Used to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise. It may be prescribed when treatment with sitagliptin and metformin together is appropriate.
How to Use:\
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with meals to reduce stomach discomfort. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Take it at the same time each day and do not stop treatment without medical advice.
Precautions & Warnings:\
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, heart failure, pancreatitis, gallstones, or if you consume alcohol regularly. Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis, particularly in people with significant kidney impairment. Your doctor may monitor kidney function during treatment. Low blood sugar is more likely when this medicine is combined with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines.
Possible Side Effects:\
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, gas, headache, and decreased appetite. Vitamin B12 levels may decrease with long-term metformin use. Seek immediate medical attention for severe or persistent abdominal pain, unusual weakness, breathing difficulty, severe vomiting, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:\
If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate diabetes treatment for you.
Storage:\
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
Important Safety Information:\
Take this medicine regularly as prescribed and monitor your blood sugar as advised. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. If you miss a dose, take it when remembered with food unless it is nearly time for the next dose; do not take a double dose. If you are scheduled for certain X-ray or CT scans using iodinated contrast, inform your doctor, as metformin may need to be temporarily stopped.
