What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain worm and other parasitic infections, including intestinal worm infections. It should be used only for the infection diagnosed or suspected by a healthcare professional.
How does it work?
Albendazole damages the internal structures of worms, while ivermectin affects their nerve and muscle activity. Together, they help kill or paralyse certain parasites so the body can remove them.
How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with water. Follow the advised timing and treatment duration, and do not repeat or share the medicine without medical advice.
Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and tiredness may occur.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, other medicines or a history of allergic reactions. Use in children only on medical advice. Seek medical help for severe rash, breathing difficulty, yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe abdominal pain, confusion or seizures.
