What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial infections. It works only against bacterial infections and should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Cefpodoxime damages the bacterial cell wall, while ofloxacin blocks enzymes needed for bacterial growth and multiplication. Together, they help kill susceptible bacteria.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and swallow the tablet with water. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Avoid taking it at the same time as antacids or supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, calcium or iron; ask a pharmacist about suitable spacing.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness and indigestion.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a history of allergy to antibiotics, kidney disease, seizures, heart rhythm problems, tendon problems, or nerve-related disorders. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, severe mood or nerve-related symptoms, fainting, or an allergic reaction. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
