What is it used for?
Sacubitril 97 mg + valsartan 103 mg is used for the long-term treatment of certain types of heart failure, especially heart failure with reduced pumping ability. It helps reduce the risk of worsening heart failure and hospitalisation.

How does it work?
Sacubitril helps relax blood vessels and reduce strain on the heart. Valsartan blocks a hormone that can narrow blood vessels and increase blood pressure, helping the heart pump more efficiently.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, usually at the same times each day, with or without food. Do not stop treatment or change the dose without medical advice. Do not take it together with an ACE inhibitor; a suitable gap is required when switching between these medicines.

Common side effects
Dizziness, low blood pressure, cough, increased potassium levels, and changes in kidney function.

Precautions
Medical monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels may be needed. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure, or high potassium levels. Do not use during pregnancy. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing, as these may indicate angioedema.
