What is it used for?
Sacubitril 24 mg + valsartan 26 mg is used for the long-term treatment of certain types of heart failure, especially when the heart has reduced pumping function. It helps reduce heart failure symptoms and the risk of hospitalisation.

How does it work?
Sacubitril helps widen blood vessels and reduce strain on the heart. Valsartan blocks a hormone that tightens blood vessels and raises blood pressure, helping the heart pump more efficiently.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor, at the recommended times. Do not stop treatment or change the dose without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, low blood pressure, cough, increased potassium levels, and changes in kidney function.

Precautions
Do not use during pregnancy. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, liver disease, low blood pressure, high potassium, or a previous allergic swelling reaction (angioedema). Do not take with an ACE inhibitor; a suitable gap is required when switching from one to the other. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
