What is it used for?
Ondansetron 4 mg is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including nausea and vomiting related to certain medical treatments or surgery.

How does it work?
It blocks serotonin signals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Follow the instructions on the label and do not take more than recommended. If it is an orally disintegrating form, allow it to dissolve as directed.

Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness and tiredness.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a heart rhythm problem, low potassium or magnesium levels, liver disease, or an allergy to ondansetron. Seek medical help for fainting, a fast or irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, or signs of a serious allergic reaction. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially medicines that can affect heart rhythm or serotonin levels.
