What is it used for?
Ondansetron is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.

How does it work?
It blocks serotonin signals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Measure the syrup with an accurate measuring device. Do not take more or more often than advised.

Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness and tiredness.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a history of heart rhythm problems, low potassium or magnesium levels, liver disease, or an allergy to ondansetron. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially medicines that affect heart rhythm or mood. Seek medical help for fainting, an irregular heartbeat, severe allergic reactions or unusual muscle stiffness and agitation.
