What is it used for?
Used on infected or infection-prone skin wounds, such as minor cuts, ulcers, burns or surgical wounds, to help treat or prevent bacterial infection.

How does it work?
Metronidazole acts against certain bacteria, especially those that grow without oxygen. Povidone iodine releases iodine that kills a wide range of germs on the skin.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Clean and gently dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Wash hands before and after use. Do not apply to the eyes or swallow it.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, redness, itching or skin irritation at the application site. Stop use and seek medical help if severe irritation, swelling or a rash develops.

Precautions
Avoid use if allergic to metronidazole, povidone iodine or similar products. Use only on the affected area and avoid prolonged or extensive use unless advised by a healthcare professional. Seek medical advice for deep, large, severely infected or non-healing wounds, or if there is increasing pain, redness, swelling or fever. Ask a doctor before use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if there is thyroid disease.
