What is it used for?
This combination is used to help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and blood-clot-related problems in people with coronary artery disease, including after a heart attack, acute coronary syndrome, angioplasty or stent placement. It also helps lower high cholesterol.

How does it work?
Rosuvastatin lowers harmful LDL cholesterol and helps protect blood vessels. Clopidogrel and aspirin reduce the sticking together of blood platelets, helping prevent harmful blood clots.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with water. Do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping the antiplatelet medicines may increase the risk of a blood clot. Tell the doctor before any surgery or dental procedure.

Common side effects
Easy bruising or bleeding, nosebleeds, indigestion, stomach discomfort, nausea, headache and muscle pain may occur.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, liver or kidney disease, or aspirin allergy. Seek urgent medical help for vomiting blood, black stools, unusually heavy bleeding, severe headache, or severe muscle pain or weakness with dark urine. Avoid starting painkillers such as ibuprofen or other blood-thinning medicines unless advised by a doctor. Rosuvastatin should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a doctor.
