What is it used for?
Used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections of the digestive tract that may cause diarrhoea, loose motions, dysentery and abdominal gas. It should be used only when prescribed by a healthcare professional.

How does it work?
Ofloxacin and metronidazole work against different bacteria and parasites that can cause intestinal infections. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles and may relieve bloating and abdominal discomfort.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed and complete the recommended course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow with water. Do not take it at the same time as antacids or mineral supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, iron or calcium; follow the prescriber’s instructions for spacing them. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, metallic taste and loss of appetite.

Precautions
Do not self-medicate or use it for every episode of diarrhoea. Tell the healthcare professional about pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver disease, seizures, heart-rhythm problems, tendon disorders or previous reactions to antibiotics. Stop taking it and seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, numbness or tingling, severe rash, breathing difficulty or unusual palpitations.
