What is it used for?
Used on the scalp to help reduce hereditary (pattern) hair loss and support hair regrowth in some people.
How does it work?
Minoxidil may stimulate hair follicles and help keep them in the growth phase for longer. Its exact action is not fully understood.
How to take/use it
For external use only. Apply to the dry scalp exactly as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Wash hands after applying and avoid contact with the eyes, face, and other body areas. Do not apply to broken, irritated, or infected skin.
Common side effects
Scalp itching, dryness, redness, irritation, or flaking. Unwanted hair growth on the face or other nearby areas may occur.
Precautions
Stop use and seek medical advice if severe scalp irritation, chest pain, fast heartbeat, dizziness, swelling, or sudden unexplained hair loss occurs. Seek medical advice before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there is heart disease or a scalp condition. Keep away from children and avoid swallowing.
