What is it used for?
Minoxidil 5% solution is used on the scalp to help promote hair regrowth and reduce hair loss in pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in adults.

How does it work?
It may stimulate hair follicles and help prolong the hair-growth phase. The exact way it works is not fully understood.

How to take/use it
For external use on the scalp only. Apply it exactly as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Use on a clean, dry scalp, avoid contact with the eyes, and wash hands after application. Do not apply more than directed.

Common side effects
Scalp irritation, itching, dryness, redness or burning; unwanted hair growth on the face or other body areas; and temporary increased hair shedding when starting treatment.

Precautions
Do not apply to broken, inflamed or infected skin. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. Do not use for sudden or patchy hair loss, or hair loss with an unknown cause, without medical advice.
