What is it used for?
Micronised progesterone is a natural progesterone hormone. It may be used with oestrogen as part of hormone replacement therapy during menopause, or to support progesterone levels in some menstrual, fertility or pregnancy-related conditions when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It replaces or supplements progesterone in the body. When used with oestrogen during menopause, it helps protect the lining of the womb from excessive thickening.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed. Swallow the capsule whole with water and follow the prescribed timing and treatment schedule. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. It may cause drowsiness, so caution may be needed when driving or operating machinery.

Common side effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, bloating, breast tenderness and changes in vaginal bleeding or menstrual periods.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about unexplained vaginal bleeding, liver disease, a history of blood clots, breast or reproductive-organ cancer, depression, migraine or allergies. Seek medical help for severe headache, chest pain, breathing difficulty, leg swelling, jaundice or unusual vaginal bleeding. This medicine is not a contraceptive unless specifically prescribed as part of a contraceptive regimen.
