What is it used for?
Pantoprazole injection reduces excess stomach acid. It is used for acid reflux, heartburn and acid-related irritation or damage to the food pipe, especially when oral treatment is not suitable.

How does it work?
It blocks the stomach's acid-producing proton pumps, thereby reducing acid production.

How to take/use it
This injection is given into a vein by a healthcare professional. Use it only as prescribed and do not self-inject. The dose and duration depend on the condition being treated.

Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, gas and dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any allergy to pantoprazole or similar medicines, liver disease, low vitamin B12 or magnesium levels, or osteoporosis. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or swelling, breathing difficulty, muscle cramps, or irregular heartbeat. Long-term use should be monitored by a doctor.
