What is it used for?
Paracetamol 500 mg is used to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain, such as headache, toothache, body pain, muscle pain and period pain.
How does it work?
It helps reduce the production of chemicals in the body that cause pain and fever.
How to take/use it
Take it by mouth with or without food, exactly as directed on the package or by a doctor. Do not take more than the recommended amount or use it with other medicines containing paracetamol.
Common side effects
Usually well tolerated. Nausea, stomach discomfort or skin rash may occur.
Precautions
Do not use if allergic to paracetamol. Seek medical advice before use if there is liver disease, regular heavy alcohol use, or severe malnutrition. Avoid taking other paracetamol-containing products at the same time, as an overdose can cause serious liver damage. Stop use and seek urgent medical help for a severe rash, breathing difficulty, or signs of liver problems.
