What is it used for?
Paracetamol 500 mg is used to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain, such as headache, toothache, body pain, muscle pain and period pain.
How does it work?
It reduces the production of chemicals involved in pain and helps lower an increased body temperature.
How to take/use it
Take by mouth with water, exactly as directed on the package or by a doctor. Do not take more than the recommended amount or use it with other medicines containing paracetamol.
Common side effects
Side effects are uncommon when used correctly. Nausea, stomach discomfort or skin rash may occur.
Precautions
Do not exceed the recommended dose, as too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage. Avoid or seek medical advice before use if there is liver disease, regular heavy alcohol use, or allergy to paracetamol.
