What is it used for?
Pantoprazole injection reduces excess stomach acid. It is used for acid-related conditions such as acidity, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers, especially when oral treatment is not suitable.

How does it work?
It blocks the stomach's acid-producing proton pumps, thereby reducing acid production and helping relieve acid-related symptoms and support healing.

How to take/use it
This medicine is given slowly into a vein by a doctor or nurse. The dose and duration depend on the condition being treated and should be decided by a healthcare professional. It is generally used when pantoprazole cannot be taken by mouth.

Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, gas, and pain or irritation at the injection site.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about allergies to pantoprazole or other acid-reducing medicines, liver disease, and all other medicines being taken. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of a serious allergic reaction. Prolonged treatment may require medical monitoring for low magnesium or vitamin B12 deficiency.
