What is it used for?
Used to relieve acidity, heartburn and acid reflux (GERD), particularly when these symptoms occur with nausea, vomiting or a feeling of delayed stomach emptying.
How does it work?
Pantoprazole reduces the production of stomach acid. Domperidone helps stomach contents move forward and helps control nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed. It is generally taken before food when directed by the doctor. Swallow the sustained-release capsule/tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it.
Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, gas, dry mouth or abdominal cramps.
Precautions
Use only under medical advice, especially if there is a history of irregular heartbeat, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, or low potassium or magnesium levels. Tell the doctor about all medicines being taken, particularly medicines that affect heart rhythm. Seek urgent medical help for a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, severe diarrhoea or an allergic reaction. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
