What is it used for?
Used to treat acidity, heartburn and acid reflux (GERD), particularly when these symptoms are associated with nausea, bloating or a feeling of fullness.
How does it work?
Pantoprazole reduces the production of stomach acid. Domperidone helps stomach contents move forward and can reduce nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the sustained-release capsule or tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Follow the prescribed timing in relation to meals.
Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, bloating, dry mouth and dizziness.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart rhythm problems, liver or kidney disease, or low potassium or magnesium levels. Domperidone may rarely cause serious heartbeat problems; seek urgent medical help for a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting or severe dizziness. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially those affecting heart rhythm. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
