What is it used for?
Used in toothpaste to help relieve tooth sensitivity and protect teeth against cavities.
How does it work?
Potassium nitrate helps reduce the sensitivity of tooth nerves to triggers such as hot, cold or sweet foods. Sodium monofluorophosphate helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent decay.
How to take/use it
Use as directed on the product label. Brush the teeth regularly with the toothpaste and spit after brushing. Do not swallow. Do not use more often than recommended.
Common side effects
Usually well tolerated. Some people may experience mild mouth irritation, changes in taste or an allergic reaction.
Precautions
Do not swallow the toothpaste. Keep out of reach of young children and seek medical advice if a large amount is swallowed. Stop use and seek advice if mouth irritation, swelling or a rash occurs. Consult a dentist if tooth sensitivity continues or worsens.
