What is it used for?
Used as an antiseptic mouthwash to help reduce dental plaque and gum inflammation (gingivitis). It may also help control mouth bacteria, bad breath and tooth decay.

How does it work?
Chlorhexidine reduces harmful bacteria in the mouth. Zinc chloride may help control mouth odour, while sodium fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and protect against cavities.

How to take/use it
Use only as directed on the product label or by a dentist. Rinse the mouth and spit out; do not swallow. Do not dilute unless instructed. Avoid using it immediately after brushing, as toothpaste may reduce chlorhexidine’s effect.

Common side effects
Temporary taste changes, mouth irritation, tongue irritation and staining of the teeth or tongue may occur, especially with prolonged use.

Precautions
Do not swallow. Stop using it and seek medical advice if swelling, rash, breathing difficulty or other signs of an allergic reaction occur. Use in children only if advised by a dentist or doctor. Prolonged use may cause staining, so follow the recommended course and dental advice.
