What is it used for?
Ondansetron is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including nausea and vomiting related to surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, when prescribed.

It blocks serotonin signals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it

Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness and tiredness.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about any heart rhythm problems, low potassium or magnesium levels, liver disease, or allergies to ondansetron. Inform the doctor about all medicines being used, especially medicines that affect heart rhythm or serotonin levels. Seek urgent medical help for fainting, a fast or irregular heartbeat, breathing difficulty, swelling, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
