What is it used for?
Pantoprazole 40 mg is used to reduce excess stomach acid. It helps treat acidity, heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), and stomach or intestinal ulcers, as prescribed.

How does it work?
It blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach, reducing the amount of acid made. This helps relieve acid-related symptoms and allows irritated tissues or ulcers to heal.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually before a meal. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Follow the prescribed dose and treatment duration, and do not stop long-term treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain, gas, or dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting, unexplained weight loss, vomiting blood, or black stools. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhoea. Inform the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and all other medicines being taken.
