What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections, especially infections of the stomach and intestines that may cause infectious diarrhoea or dysentery. It should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Norfloxacin stops susceptible bacteria from multiplying. Tinidazole damages the DNA of certain bacteria and parasites, helping eliminate the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the recommended course. Swallow with water. Avoid taking it with milk or yoghurt, and keep antacids, iron, calcium or zinc supplements separate as advised by a doctor or pharmacist. Do not drink alcohol during treatment or for 3 days after the last dose.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and a metallic taste.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to norfloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics or tinidazole. Seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, severe dizziness, unusual nerve symptoms, or severe or persistent diarrhoea. Tell the doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney or liver problems, epilepsy, or use of other medicines. Avoid driving if dizzy or less alert.
