What is it used for?
Nimesulide is used for short-term relief of pain, inflammation and fever, such as body pain, muscle or joint pain, and dental pain.

How does it work?
It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID). It reduces the production of substances in the body that cause pain, swelling and fever.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed by a doctor and do not use it for longer than recommended. Swallow the tablet with water, preferably after food. Do not take more than the prescribed amount or combine it with other painkillers unless advised.

Common side effects
Nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhoea, dizziness and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Nimesulide can rarely cause serious liver problems. Stop taking it and seek medical help if there is yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, severe nausea or pain in the upper abdomen. Avoid it if there is liver disease, a stomach ulcer or bleeding, or an allergy to NSAIDs, unless specifically advised by a doctor. Avoid alcohol and consult a doctor before use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or with kidney disease or blood-thinning medicines.
