What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain parasitic worm infections, including some intestinal worm infections. It should be used only for the infection diagnosed or suspected by a healthcare professional.
How does it work?
Albendazole damages the worms' ability to use nutrients and survive. Ivermectin affects the nervous system of susceptible parasites, helping to paralyse and eliminate them.
How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Shake the suspension well before use and measure it with the provided measuring device. Do not change the dose or stop treatment early without medical advice.
Common side effects
Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache and dizziness may occur.
Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver disease or a history of allergy to either medicine. Avoid self-medication, especially in children. Seek medical help for severe rash, breathing difficulty, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or persistent vomiting.
