What is it used for?
Sildenafil 100 mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sexual activity). It helps achieve an erection only when there is sexual stimulation.

How does it work?
It improves blood flow to the penis by relaxing blood vessels during sexual stimulation. It works by blocking an enzyme called PDE5.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and swallow it with water. Do not take more than prescribed. Follow the doctor's instructions about when to take it and whether it should be taken with food.

Common side effects
Headache, facial flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, dizziness, nausea and visual changes such as blurred vision or changes in colour perception.

Precautions
Do not use sildenafil with nitrate medicines for chest pain or with riociguat, as this can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Tell the doctor about heart or blood-pressure problems, recent stroke or heart attack, liver or kidney disease, or use of alpha-blockers. Seek urgent medical help for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, chest pain, or severe dizziness.
