What is it used for?
Used to reduce excess stomach acid and relieve acidity, heartburn and acid reflux. It may also help with associated nausea, vomiting, bloating or indigestion when prescribed.
How does it work?
Pantoprazole reduces the production of acid in the stomach. Domperidone helps stomach contents move forward and can reduce nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed. Swallow the enteric-coated tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. It is generally taken before meals when directed by a doctor.
Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, bloating, dry mouth or dizziness.
Precautions
Domperidone may affect heart rhythm. Tell the doctor about any heart disease, irregular heartbeat, fainting, liver disease or electrolyte imbalance, and about all other medicines being taken. Avoid self-treatment or prolonged use. Seek urgent medical help for a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, severe dizziness, vomiting blood or black stools.
