What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve moderate to severe pain when a stronger painkiller may be needed.

How does it work?
Tramadol and paracetamol work together in the brain and nervous system to reduce the sensation of pain. Tramadol is an opioid pain reliever, while paracetamol also helps reduce pain and fever.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed amount or use it for longer than advised. Avoid taking other medicines containing paracetamol or tramadol unless a doctor approves. Do not drink alcohol while taking it, and avoid driving if it causes drowsiness or dizziness.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth and stomach discomfort.

Precautions
Tramadol can cause dependence and may slow breathing, especially if taken in excess or with alcohol, sleeping medicines or other sedatives. Use only under medical advice if there is liver or kidney disease, breathing problems, a history of seizures, or a history of substance misuse. Seek urgent medical help for severe sleepiness, slow or difficult breathing, confusion, seizures, or signs of an allergic reaction.
