What is it used for?
Used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever in children, such as pain associated with common illnesses or minor injuries.

How does it work?
Mefenamic acid reduces the production of substances that cause pain, swelling and fever. Paracetamol also relieves pain and lowers fever through a different action.

How to take/use it
Use only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist, with the dose based on the child’s age and weight. Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose with an oral syringe or measuring device. Do not give more than recommended.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, indigestion or dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Do not give with other medicines containing paracetamol or other painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin unless advised by a healthcare professional. Seek medical advice before use in children with stomach ulcers, kidney or liver problems, dehydration, asthma triggered by painkillers, or a history of allergy to these medicines. Stop use and seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe skin rash, black stools, vomiting blood or severe stomach pain.
