What is it used for?
Nebivolol is mainly used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed for certain patients with chronic heart failure under medical supervision.
How does it work?
It slows the heart rate and reduces the force with which the heart pumps, helping lower blood pressure. It may also relax blood vessels, improving blood flow.
How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop taking it suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects
Headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea, slow heartbeat and cold hands or feet.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about asthma or breathing problems, a slow heartbeat, heart rhythm or circulation problems, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, or pregnancy. It may mask some warning signs of low blood sugar. Seek medical advice for severe dizziness, fainting, breathing difficulty or an unusually slow heartbeat.
