What is it used for?
This combination is used for temporary relief of cough, blocked or stuffy nose, runny nose and sneezing associated with common cold and similar upper-respiratory conditions.

How does it work?
Dextromethorphan helps reduce the cough reflex. Chlorpheniramine reduces allergy-like symptoms such as runny nose and sneezing, while phenylephrine helps relieve nasal congestion.

How to take/use it
Use only as directed on the product label or by a doctor or pharmacist. Do not take more than recommended or use it for longer than advised. Avoid taking it with other cough, cold or allergy medicines unless advised, as they may contain the same ingredients.

Common side effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea, headache, nervousness or difficulty sleeping. Phenylephrine may cause a fast heartbeat or increased blood pressure.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol and be careful with driving or operating machinery because drowsiness or reduced alertness may occur. Ask a doctor before use if there is high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, difficulty urinating, thyroid disease or other long-term medical conditions. Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitor medicines, and check with a doctor before combining with antidepressants, sedatives or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Seek medical advice for children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if the cough lasts, worsens or is associated with breathing difficulty or high fever.
