What is it used for?
Used to help manage breathing problems in conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), especially when thick mucus, wheezing or breathing difficulty is present.

How does it work?
Acebrophylline helps widen the airways and improve airflow. N-acetylcysteine thins thick mucus, making it easier to clear from the airways.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take extra doses or stop treatment without medical advice. This medicine is not a substitute for a quick-relief inhaler during a sudden breathing attack.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache or dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor before use if there is a history of stomach ulcer, heart rhythm problems, seizures, or liver or kidney disease. Inform the doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding and all other medicines being taken, particularly theophylline or other medicines for breathing problems. Seek urgent medical help for severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or an allergic reaction.
