What is it used for?
Moxifloxacin eyedrops are used to treat bacterial eye infections, including bacterial conjunctivitis (eye infection causing redness and discharge).
How does it work?
It is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria causing the eye infection.
How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed. Wash hands before and after use, and do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any surface. Remove contact lenses before use and do not wear them until advised by a doctor. Complete the prescribed course unless told otherwise.
Common side effects
Temporary eye irritation, burning, stinging, itching, redness, discomfort or blurred vision may occur after use.
Precautions
Do not use if allergic to moxifloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Stop using it and seek medical help if there is severe eye pain, worsening vision, marked swelling, rash or difficulty breathing. Seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve or become worse.
