What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy nose, and watery or itchy eyes.

How does it work?
Fexofenadine blocks histamine, a chemical that causes allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, substances that contribute to inflammation and nasal allergy symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not take more than the recommended amount. Avoid taking it with apple, orange, or grapefruit juice, and ask a pharmacist about the timing of aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, or tiredness may occur.

Precautions
Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, sleep problems, depression, or suicidal thoughts; seek medical help promptly if these occur. Use only under medical advice during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in liver disease. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or sleepiness occurs. This medicine is not a rescue treatment for a sudden asthma attack.
