What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, nasal itching, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Desloratadine blocks histamine, a chemical involved in allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, substances that contribute to allergic inflammation and nasal congestion.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not change the dose or duration without medical advice. It is not intended to provide immediate relief during a sudden asthma attack.

Common side effects
Headache, dry mouth, tiredness, stomach pain, nausea, or dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy, or breastfeeding before use. Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, disturbed sleep, agitation, depression, or suicidal thoughts; seek medical advice promptly if these occur. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or sleepiness occurs. Seek urgent help for signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as facial swelling or difficulty breathing.
