What is it used for?
Used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. It does not treat viral or fungal eye infections.
How does it work?
Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic that stops susceptible bacteria from growing and multiplying. Benzalkonium solution acts as a preservative.
How to take/use it
Use in the eye only and follow the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor. Wash hands before use, do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or other surfaces, and close the container after use. Remove contact lenses before application and ask a doctor when they can be worn again.
Common side effects
Temporary burning or stinging, eye irritation, redness, itching, dryness, blurred vision, or a change in taste may occur.
Precautions
Do not use if allergic to moxifloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Stop using it and seek medical help if there is swelling, rash, severe itching, breathing difficulty, severe eye pain, or worsening vision. Seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve or become worse.
