Metrozox XL (60ml) Ofloxacin + Metronidazole + Simethicone Susp. by Csc

What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections of the stomach and intestines, which may cause diarrhoea, loose motions, dysentery or stomach infection. Simethicone helps relieve gas and bloating.

How does it work?
Ofloxacin kills susceptible bacteria, while metronidazole acts against certain anaerobic bacteria and parasites. Simethicone helps gas bubbles join together so they can pass more easily.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by the doctor. Shake the suspension well before use and measure it with the supplied measuring device. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Do not take antacids or iron, calcium or zinc supplements at the same time without medical advice, as they may reduce ofloxacin absorption.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, metallic taste, headache or dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose. Tell the doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if there is kidney disease, epilepsy, nerve problems or a history of tendon problems. Seek medical help for a serious allergic reaction, severe or persistent diarrhoea, tendon pain or swelling, or numbness and tingling. Use in children only when specifically prescribed.
