What is it used for?
Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 used to prevent or treat vitamin B12 deficiency. It may help support the formation of healthy red blood cells and normal nerve function.

How does it work?
It supplies vitamin B12, which the body needs for red blood cell production, DNA formation and healthy nerves.

How to take/use it
Take or use it exactly as directed by a doctor or as stated on the product label. Do not use more than the recommended amount. The dose and duration depend on the severity and cause of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Common side effects
It is usually well tolerated. Nausea, diarrhoea, headache, skin rash or itching may occur.

Precautions
Do not use it if allergic to methylcobalamin, vitamin B12 or cobalt. Seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve or if vitamin B12 deficiency has not been confirmed. People with Leber’s disease should consult a doctor before use. Seek urgent help for swelling of the face or throat, breathing difficulty or a severe rash.
